Who is Diane Castillo?
Diane Castillo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Diane, along with her husband, Dr. Michael Castillo are co-owners of Alamo Mental Health Group. She has been in private practice in San Antonio for the past 15 years. She has extensive experience and training in the treatment of adolescents and adults; and enjoys working with couples and families. Her practice focuses on helping individuals related to mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder; anxiety and stress disorders; relationship issues, women issues, and treatment of sexual abuse. She has a special interest in eating disorders. Her treatment approach to therapy is from a family systems point of view and from a cognitive-behavioral perspective. However, her unconditional acceptance and respect for each individual allows for great flexibility in tailoring therapy to meet the patients needs. Diane obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degree of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. Prior to entering private practice in 1992, she worked in many different settings. She began her career as a social worker for the Texas Department of Human Services. In this setting she worked closely with families of physical and sexual abuse; and neglect. She also served in a supervisory position and worked as an adjunct professor for North Texas University and Texas Woman's University. In 1992 she began working as a psychotherapist in a psychiatric hospital setting. She provided individual and group therapy to adolescents and adult in both intensive outpatient settings and in inpatient settings. In 1995 she entered private practice with Alamo Mental Health Group. In her practice, she enjoys working with people to bring about positive change in their lives.
Who is Elisa Hilario?
Elisa Hilario is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who received her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2018 from the University of Texas at Austin and Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to practicing in outpatient care, Elisa worked in long-term care diagnosing and treating adults with major depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and dementia. She also has experience as a Registered Nurse at a residential treatment center for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems and as a Residential Counselor for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. Elisa is dedicated to helping clients optimize their mental wellness by developing a collaborative partnership with clients and tailoring treatment to meet the needs of each individual. As a healthcare worker, she is committed to a career of life-long learning and takes a holistic, non-judgmental, evidence-based practice approach. She provides psychiatric evaluations, assessment, and medication management for adults. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, strength training, and attending live performance events.
What is Laura Goodwin's background?
Laura Goodwin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in the field Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Practitioner with a minor in Nursing Education. She did her clinicals in both adult and child psychiatric practices and at inpatient child and adult hospitals. She most recently has been working primarily with a population consisting of adult and geriatric patients and is very skilled in treating patients with Alzheimer's and other Dementias such as Lewy Body Disease, Vascular dementia, etc. She also has experience in treating teens and adults with IDDM, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, intermittent explosive disorder and has treated ADHD in the past, as well as other psychiatric disorders. Laura enjoys working with her patients to improve their mental health issues. Laura is a mother of two girls and a grandmother of one girl. She enjoys playing with her granddaughter and her two dogs Chrystal and Iris in her off time. She also enjoys working on and driving her John Deere tractor and gardening.
