Where is Samantha Hulse?

Samantha Hulse, better known by her family and friends as Sam, has always had a passion for helping others. You could even say that nursing runs in her blood, having a grandmother who was a nurse. Sam was originally born in North Carolina but spent much of her youth in Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in nursing at Miami University of Ohio. Immediately after graduation, she moved to Dallas to work as a registered nurse and complete a critical care residency program at Parkland Hospital. For almost five years she worked in Parkland’s medicine intensive care unit and also worked as a COVID ICU nurse throughout the pandemic. Her time spent in the ICU inspired her to become a nurse practitioner, so that she could help her patients in a different way. Her goal is to empower patients through preventative wellness and prevent the development of the acute conditions seen in the hospital. Sam obtained her Masters of Science in nursing at the University of South Alabama and is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While in school, she completed her internal medicine rotation with Dr. Okoro and knew immediately her goal after graduation would be to join Dr. Okoro’s amazing team. Sam is so thrilled and honored to be able to serve the community of Allen. On her days off, Sam enjoys spending time with her husband, Lane, and their two fur-babies (a one hundred pound Great Pyrenees dog and a grumpy Maine Coone cat). She also loves spending time with her family and friends, reading books, and traveling. She is so excited to join the RescueMD team and can’t wait to start building relationships with each of her patients. She hopes to see you soon!
