The Outpatient Service provides diagnosis and treatment for persons age 18 and over. Treatment modalities include pharmacotherapy, dynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy and group treatment.
Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic
The Outpatient Clinic provides psychiatric and clinical services to individuals needing mental health and substance abuse medical treatments. It provides a wide range of treatment modalities, from diagnostic evaluation, phychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and psychopharmacologic treatment.
Consultation Liaison Services
The Consultation Service provides initial consultations and follow-up for all adult, surgical, medical, and ob/gyn services at University Hospital of Brooklyn. Consultations are also provided in the emergency room.
Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has a wide range of services for children, adolescents and their families. The Outpatient Department provides walk-in clinic services that allow for immediate assessment of children/adolescents. In addition, there is an active treatment clinic that is attended by a Child Psychiatrist.
Geriatric Psychiatry
The division provides an integrated clinical care, research, and educational program focusing on the mental disorders and neuropsychiatric assessment and treatment of persons age 55 and over. The services provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Phobia & Anxiety Disorders Clinic
For more than a decade the Phobia and Anxiety Disorders Clinic has functioned as a specialty outpatient clinic within the Department of Psychiatry’s Outpatient Clinic.
